I am one of the high school teachers here at Yuba City Charter School. I have been working here at YCCS in some aspect since they opened the school. My job now at the high school is to do everything in my power to help my students be successful young men and women. I have been working hard to develop relationships with each of the students, as well as find out what their needs are academically, in order to better help them complete all of the necessary requirements to graduate high school. I hope to also develop relationships with all of the family of my students as well, because I feel that if we are working together, we can help them succeed.

One of the things that I have been encouraging in my class is to be respectful to each other. We all have feelings and emotions and at times they can get out of control. I've told them if they will talk to me about what is going on and be respectful in doing so, then we can work together to find a solution to fix the problem. This has been going very well and I feel that I have began to make connections with each of my students in different ways. To me my job is more then just teaching, it is helping the whole person; finding ways to help them learn to problem solve and not just react to a given situation.

Each day students learn to set goals and if they are not completed in class and signed off, then they have homework and it is written on the back of their point sheets, that they should be bring home each day, so that you are able to sign it. Please take a little time and check for any communication from myself or the administration staff concerning what is coming up, as well as your child's homework or behavior for the day. Please feel free to call me or ask me to give you a call if you have any questions. I look forward to a wonderful and prosperous year.

Thank you,
 Tammie Farrar
