I am 26 years old and am the 1st grade teacher here at Yuba City Charter School.  This is my second year at this great school and I have some very high expectations of my students.  I graduated from Chico State in 2008 with a degree in Liberal Studies and a minor in Special Education.  I am currently attending Chapman University to obtain a Masters degree in Special Education.  I have been in the education field for about 5 years now.  I started as an instructional aid for young children with severe disabilities.  I also worked in a general education class for one year as an aid for two children with mild forms of autism.  In my spare time I enjoy playing and coaching softball and teaching pitching lessons to dedicated softball players.  I enjoy teaching children of all ages and abilities, and love seeing the growth in literacy and development throughout the course of a school year. 1st grade is one of the most vital academic years that a child will experience.  I am grateful that I am able to make an experience like this powerful and successful for all of my students.
