I have been teaching at Yuba City Charter School for five years. I have had the pleasure of working in the classroom in both Elementary and Middle school. This year I am the Education Specialist and work closely with our school psychologist. I work with all of our special educations students by helping them reach IEP goals as well as helping them with curriculum issues. I find it very rewarding to watch a student "get it" for the first time. The joy and sense of accomplishment they have at that moment is the reason I come to school everyday. Outside of school, I enjoy crafts and anything outdoors. Also, I've recently acquired a love for painting. I am married to my soul mate, have a beautiful daughter and three amazing granddaughters. As a teacher, I have high expectations for my students. Moreover, I believe that each one is capable of meeting those expectations. My first desire is to see each student reach their full potential, not only as students, but as members of their respective communities. To that end, I do my best to expose the students to a variety of extracurricular experiences. We discuss current events, like the state of the economy, and design field trips that combine education with creative exploration.
"If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place."
~Nora Roberts
