I have been the Principal here at YCCS since it’s inception in the year 2000. Ever since Junior High School I have wanted to be a teacher.  My 8th and 9th grade English teacher, Mr. Marquez, was such an incredible person that I decided I wanted to be able to affect kids’ lives like he had. I graduated from Placer High School, Auburn CA in 1967 and at the young age of 20 graduated from Seattle Pacific University in June of 1971.  I returned home to California and attended California State University-Sacramento and received my California State Teacher’s Credential in 1972.  I have been involved in education (both public and private) since that time.  I taught at Park Avenue School and April Lane School in Yuba City.  I taught and was principal for Glad Tidings Christian Academy.  I also taught at Alicia Intermediate School, at which time I attended California State University-Chico and obtained my California State Administrator’s Credential.  I really enjoy my job and appreciate the staff and students here at Yuba City Charter School.

I am married to Mary, my wife of 36 years.  We have 5 children and 10 grandchildren.  Our family is scattered around the globe, living in Afghanistan, Colorado and Yuba City, CA. We have lived in the Yuba /Sutter area for all of our married life. I am a very blessed man.

Administrative Assistant- Christina Rice

I have worked at Yuba City Charter School for seven years. I have worked in almost every position. The last two years have been the most rewarding working in the front office. I enjoy getting to know each family as they come in and register their children. Students don't enjoy that fact as much as I do. They seem to find issues with me knowing their parents as much as I know them. I enjoy being able to make a difference in lives by doing my job.
I am a wife, mom of three and enjoying every moment of it. I am truly blessed.  This year I am in charge of the yearbook so make sure you take a look at some of the pictures we will include later on the electives page.
On my off time, I love to paint and do crafty things.
